Sanmenxia Yixiang Alumina refinery in Henan, designed with 700 ktpy alumina capacity (non-SGA), restarted a 600 ktpy production line last week.
The company has one 100 ktpy and one 600 ktpy production line of which only the 100 ktpy line was in operation during February 2020 due to local bauxite supply shortages. With mines becoming active with improved bauxite supply, the company restarted the large 600 ktpy production line and shut down the smaller one.
Yixiang produced 10 kt of alumina in February, 20 kt in March and its April output is estimated at 40 kt (non-SGA). The company currently hold no stocks.
Yixiang is quoting its alumina (non-SGA) at RMB2,500/t ex-works.
