According to an announcement from XTC (Xiamen Tungsten), the company’s holding subsidiary, Xiamen Tungsten New Energy, intends to establish a joint venture in France with Orano CAM, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Orano, through its wholly-owned subsidiary, European Xiamen Tungsten New Energy Materials (referred to as “France XTC New Energy”), which will serve as the implementing entity for the 40 ktpy of cathode materials for lithium-ion batteries project in France. The total investment is RMB 3.961 bln. According to the announcement, the project will be located in Dunkirk, Upper France and the construction period is approximately 44 months including two phases. The first phase, with a capacity of 20 kt of cathode materials, is expected to be completed and trial production in the fourth quarter of 2025, and the second phase is expected to be completed in the third quarter of 2027.
