Xinhengfeng, East Hope’s primary aluminium smelter in Baotou IM, designed with 260 sets of 600kA cells, resumed full capacity operation (500 ktpy) last month.
The company halted 50% of its operations in August 2019 due to a busbar short circuit accident. After six-months’ overhaul and maintenance the company restarted full operations in February.
The company produced 300 kt of primary aluminium in 2019, and is targeting 500 kt of output for 2020.
Mainstream aluminium ingot transaction prices were RMB 13,100~13,200/t at Shanghai warehouses this Tuesday, an increase of RMB100/t on Monday.
