3rd June: Yunnan Wenshan Aluminum formally brought Phase I of its 500 ktpy hydro-power and aluminium project online in mid-May 2020 and the first batch of aluminium ingot has been produced. This marks the formal establishment of Wenshan Aluminium’s integrated ‘bauxite-alumina-aluminium-aluminium processing’ industrial chain.
The project utilizes world-leading 500 kA electrolytic cells and there is a long-term plan of expanding capacity to 1 mtpy.
