24 September: The Environmental Impact Assessment Group (EIA) of key projects of the Yunnan Wenshan Prefecture Eco-environment Bureau completed an on-site inspection of Weiqiao Group’s 2mtpy hydro-power and primary aluminium integrated project at Wenshan. During the inspection, the EIA group, local government of Yanshan County, Weiqiao Group (project owner) and the project designer discussed several issues including site selection, total amount of major pollutants, construction of a slag yard, and overall planning of the industrial park.
Project construction is scheduled to begin at the end of 2019.
