SPIC Shanxi performed well in 2019 with bauxite supply from its captive mines increasing by 368.2 kt y-o-y. In 2019, SPIC Shanxi’s Ningwu bauxite mine came online, its Wutai mine resumed operations and the mining plan of its Hejiagetai mine passed assessment. Electricity supply from SPIC’s captive power plants increased by 662 mln kWh with a self-reliance rate of 92.4% in 2019, up from 87.8% in 2018. Meanwhile, SPIC produced 25.2 kt of primary aluminium in 2019 marking a history new high.
