Sichuan Guangyuan Qimingxing Aluminium, designed with 120 ktpy primary aluminium capacity is set to increase its operational capacity by 40 kt and expects to achieve full capacity operation in late June.
The company owns 220 sets of 200kA cells, with 80 ktpy capacity in operation at present. The company will restart 40 ktpy capacity in late June as raw material preparation will take a month to complete.
Sichuan Guangyuan Qimingxing Aluminium typically sells liquid aluminium on the local market but currently holds 4 kt aluminium ingot in stock. The company produced 6.6 kt of primary aluminium in April with its May output estimated to be the same. Its 2019 annual output was 60 kt.
Mainstream aluminium ingot transaction prices were RMB 13,460~13,560/t/t on the local market on Wednesday, falling by RMB20/t from Tuesday.
