Phase 1 of Shanxi Zhongrun’s (Chalco Huarun) 432 ktpy primary aluminium project has been completed. The project was designed with 368 sets of advanced electrolytic cells, four dry flue gas purification systems, and associated anode and aluminium casting workshops. In addition, the project is planned to have 1 mtpy aluminium alloy capacity and an affiliated captive power plant of 3 x 660 MW generators.
The project produced 53 kt of primary aluminium during 2018.
