Senze Liulin Alumina refinery in Shanxi, designed with 1.3 mtpy alumina capacity, returned to normal operations, running all three of its production lines last week.
With increased bauxite supply from its captive mines, the company restarted lines which were under suspension during February 2020 on local bauxite supply shortages, and full capacity operation can be expected in three days.
Senze’s March output is expected at 50kt with an April output target set at 100 kt. The company produced 1.1 mln t of alumina in 2019 and its 2020 output target is set at 1.2 mln t.
At present, mainstream alumina transaction prices stand at RMB2,380~2,430/t ex-works, falling by RMB30/t from last Friday.
