NBS: China produced 95.22 kt of tungsten concentrate (65% WO3) during the first three quarters of 2022, down by 7.05% y-o-y. The data from China Tungsten Association shows total tungsten concentrate production from the major 32 member companies was 57.5 kt (65% WO3) during the first three quarters of 2022, up slightly by 0.29% y-o-y, reversing the downward trend seen in H1 2022 and during the first three quarters of 2021. Of the total, scheelite concentrate production was 40.08 kt, up by 2.79% y-o-y. And of the 32 member companies, 16 had achieved a combined production gain of 4.97 kt, while the remaining 16 had a production loss of 4.8 kt, showing a net growth of 169 t from Q1~Q3 2022.
From January to September 2022, China’s tungsten oxide production increased moderately by 2.04% y-o-y, but the production of APT, tungsten powder and tungsten carbide was on the decline, with decreases of 0.42%, 0.71% and 0.42% respectively, reserving the upward trend from H1 2022.
