7 February 2022: MIIT (Ministry of Industrial and Information Technology) published its first batch of rare earth quotas for 2022.
The 2022 first round of rare earths mining quotas are 100.8 kt and the smelting quotas are 97.2 kt, both up by 20% from the figures of 84 kt and 81 kt set in the first round of 2021.
