Shanxi Meixin Aluminium smelter, designed with 300 ktpy primary aluminium capacity, announced that its 2019 output was 213 kt, approaching their annual production target of 220 kt set at the beginning of 2019.
Shaanxi Meixin had brought total 224 sets of 500 kA cells online by end-2018, gradually ramping up to full capacity operation in August 2019. Their products are in the form of liquid aluminium and aluminium ingots, with a ratio of 50% each. The company is looking to produce 300 kt of aluminium in 2020.
Mainstream aluminium ingot transaction prices were RMB 14,520~14,620/t at Shanghai warehouses this Thursday, an increase of RMB40/t from the previous trading day.
