Luyu Bochuang originally planned to bring its 800 ktpy alumina project online in December 2019, but has decided to postpone to Q2 2020. Project construction began in April 2019, but was not completed on schedule due to environmental issues.
Luyu Bochuang’s other 600 ktpy alumina production line is presently at full operation since having come online in January 2019. The company’s total alumina output during the first three quarters of 2019 was 260 kt, with annual output estimates at 400 kt. All alumina produced will be supplied internally to parent company Shandong Chuangxin Aluminium’s smelter in IM.
At present, mainstream alumina prices stand at RMB 2,580~2,630/t ex-works in Shandong, stable from earlier this week.
