China’s lithium-ion battery production exceeded 280 GWh in H1 2022, up by 150% y-o-y, with total revenue of the industry exceeding RMB 480 bln.
In H1 2022, China produced 32 GWh of energy storage batteries and 110 GWh of power batteries for new energy cars, while exports of lithium-ion battery products increased by 75% y-o-y in H1 2022.
Rapid development of the NEV industry has accelerated the growth of lithium-ion battery productions. MIIT data shows the production and sales of NEVs at 2.66 mln and 2.6 mln respectively in H1 2022, up 1.2 times y-o-y.
