Heung Kong Wanji, (Henan), designed with 600 ktpy primary aluminium capacity, is building two sets of 660MW power generators at present, which are scheduled for completion in October 2021.
The company’s captive power plant now has two sets of 300MW generators and four sets of 135MW power generators. Once the new 660MW power generators comes online in October 2021, the four smaller generators will be shut down accordingly.
The company is currently running 540 ktpy primary aluminum capacity with May output estimated at 45kt, the same as that in April. It produced 560 kt of primary aluminium in 2019 and currently holds no stock.
Mainstream aluminium ingot prices were RMB13,480~13,580/t on Tuesday, up by RMB380/t from Monday. The market was active with several transactions.
