Henan Yixiang refinery, designed with 700 ktpy of alumina capacity, has decided to overhaul one alumina calcination furnace from mid-November. According to an inside source, the company is currently working on existing orders and plans to suspend the calcination furnace on 15th November for four weeks’ scheduled maintenance. The company chiefly produces CGA (chemical grade alumina) and make sales in China’s northern market. They are not taking any new orders from now on.
Henan Yixiang is to begin environmental upgrades on its calcination furnaces in December, ultimately expanding daily capacity from 1,650 t/day to 1,850 t/day.
The company is looking to produce 500 kt of alumina in 2019, the same as 2018. October alumina output was 50 kt, with 20 kt expected in November.
