Guangxi Longzhou Xinxiang Ecological Co. Ltd., a subordinate of Jinjiang Group, started construction of a 1 mtpy alumina project (Phase I) in early November and is set to bring the project on line in Q4 2020.
According to an inside source, Xinxiang is designed with 2 mtpy alumina capacity, consisting of two 1 mtpy alumina production lines. Construction of the first production line is underway, and is scheduled to come online by end-October 2020.
Located at Longzhou County, Chongzuo City, Guangxi, Xinxiang is backed by total investment of RMB 3.8 bln from Jinjiang Group. Some of the alumina produced will be sold to Yunnan and some will be supplied to a Jinjiang smelter in IM.
At present, mainstream alumina prices stand at RMB 2,350~2,400/t ex-works in Guangxi, a decline of RMB30/t from earlier this week.
