Guangxi Xinfa has designed alumina capacity of 3 mtpy, comprising six alumina production lines of 500 ktpy capacity each. The company has been running five lines over the past few months and further suspended one additional line for overhaul in mid-December. The company is looking to restart the 500 ktpy line after maintenance in February after the Chinese New Year holiday.
Guangxi Xinfa produced 2.5 mln t of alumina in 2019, down 100 kt y-o-y. The company’s alumina output is estimated at 160 kt in January 2020, the same as last December.
At present, mainstream alumina prices stand at RMB2,340~2,390/t ex-works in Guangxi, the same as last Friday.
