Fujian Liande, a major NPI (10% Ni min grade) smelter in southern China, is set to restart a NPI production line and increase its NPI production to 15 kt in July, up by 4 kt from the current level.
Designed with annual capacity of 288 ktpy, the company has four NPI production lines, using Philippines nickel laterite (1.5% Ni min grade). According to an internal source, the company is going to raise its quotes to RMB1,200/mtu this week, thanks to a bullish market and increasing demand.
Mainstream NPI transaction prices (10% Ni min grade) stand at RMB1,160~1,180/mtu at present, up by RMB10/mtu from last Wednesday.
