Fugu Shengxin magnesium smelter suspended operation in early July amid harsh summer heat, falling prices and sluggish demand. The company is set to resume operations in mid-August 2022, with daily production estimated at 40 t.
The company produced 200 t of magnesium in July, down from 1.2 kt in June. Designed with 20 ktpy capacity, the company produced 15 kt of magnesium in 2021 and 6.7 kt in the year to date. It currently holds 6.7 kt of magnesium in stock.
