Fugu Jinchuan magnesium smelter is set to ramp up operations from mid-April 2021, increasing its daily output to 55 t from the current level of 30 t, with its April output expected at 1.3 kt.
According to an internal source, the company set its sales prices at RMB15,400/t, following a strong price sentiment y-o-y. The company currently holds no stocks.
Designed with 20 ktpy primary magnesium capacity, the company produced 850 t of magnesium in February 2021 and its March output is estimated at 1 kt. Its 2020 output was 13.5 kt and 2021 output is estimated to increase to 17.5 kt.
Mainstream magnesium prices increased by RMB50/t to RMB15,300~15,400/t ex-works by cash.
