Gansu Dongxing Aluminium Co. Ltd, designed with 1.7 mtpy aluminium capacity, is set to reach 1.55 mln t of output in 2019, down by 4.9% y-o-y from 1.62 mln t in 2018. The company is currently running at 1.6 mtpy capacity.
Gansu Dongxing Aluminium owns a 1.65 mtpy alumina refinery in Jamaica, which produced 1 mln t of alumina in 2018. The refinery suspended production in September 2019 to begin expansion, and is planning to increase its capacity to 2 mtpy over the next two years.
The company is aiming to achieve 1.55 mln t of aluminium output in 2020, the same as 2019.
Mainstream aluminium ingot transaction prices were RMB14,420~14,520/t at Shanghai warehouses last Thursday, up RMB120/t from the previous trade day.
