Domestic tungsten concentrate holders remained firm on prices this week. At present, wolframite (65% WO3 grade) mainstream quotations are at RMB88,000~89,000/standard t; scheelite (65% grade) is at RMB87,000~88,000/standard t and tungsten concentrates (50~55% grade) at RMB 84,000~87,000/standard t, all stable from last week.
Tungsten concentrate prices have returned to break even for most miners and downstream buyers remain wary on high-price concentrates recently, consequently domestic tungsten concentrate prices are expected to continue hovering around the current level next week.
The domestic APT prices have held firm, seeing mainstream quotations stable at RMB132,000~134000/t driven by rising concentrate prices. However with downstream demand remaining weak, the growth in APT prices has been slow, seeing most transaction prices at RMB132,000/t by cash on the spot market this week.
