16th June: Magnesium prices were being quoted at RMB 20,200~20,300/t in Fugu Shaanxi with mainstream transaction prices at RMB 20,200/t down by RMB 200/t from last week and prices in other regions fell accordingly. During the first two weeks of June, domestic magnesium prices have been on the decline, touching a low point in two months.
Domestic smelters are grappling with low prices, and, in view of recovering coal prices, industry insiders take the view that domestic magnesium prices are unlikely to drop further over the short term.
