As of 8th July Friday, mainstream primary magnesium prices were being quoted at RMB 24,600/t ex-work with taxes by cash in Shaanxi, with mainstream transaction prices settling at the same level, down by RMB 100/t from the previous Friday. Prices in other producing regions followed the downward trend.
Domestic magnesium smelters intend to prop prices amid strong production costs but with downstream demand remaining weak, industry commentators project magnesium prices will keep stable at the current level over the short term.
