Guizhou Denggao New Materials, designed with 250 ktpy capacity, is scheduled to bring its Phase II, 125 ktpy primary aluminium capacity (88 sets of 550 kA cells) online next week. According to a company spokesman “We will power up two cells every day after the startup, ramping up to full capacity operation in mid-September. We have been running at 125 ktpy capacity over the past three months.”
Guizhou Denggao commenced operations in August 2018, with output at 43 kt in 2018. The company produced 66 kt of alumina during the first seven months of 2019, targeting 170 kt total output for 2019. The company chiefly produces liquid aluminium, and has no aluminium ingot inventory.
Mainstream aluminium ingot transaction prices were RMB 13,850~13,950/t at Guangzhou warehouses this Tuesday, up RMB30/t on Monday.
