16th November: 2.8 kt alumina was loaded onto the dedicated Yangxin railway line of Weiqiao and is now being transported to western China. This is the first alumina shipment on the Yangxin railway line.
The Yangxin railway line, designed with transportation capacity of 4.3 mtpy has 6.9 km in length solely operated by Weiqiao, which largely facilitate Weiqiao’s alumina transport. With railway construction beginning in October 2017, the railway is the first ‘road to rail’ conversion project in Shandong. Apart from alumina transportation, the railway line is also used for coal transport.
