Mainstream magnesium export prices have been stable at USD 3,970~4,070/t FOB China (with taxes) or USD 3,800~3,900/t FOB China (without taxes) this week, keeping stable from last Friday. However, transactions were scarce, led by weakening global demand. Domestic smelters were firm on prices and industry commentators project prices will keep stable at the current level next week.
A norther trader bought 50 t of magnesium ingots at USD 3,800/t FOB China (without taxes) last Friday. The trader expects magnesium export prices to keep stable at the current level over the short term amid shrinking export activities led by the beginning of summer breaks of overseas clients.
