Antaike data shows that the average weighted cost of China’s primary aluminium returned to a downward trend in July. After surveying 75 primary aluminium smelters in China, the average weighted cost of raw materials in July based on market prices was found to be RMB 13,888/t, RMB 586/t less than the previous month. July’s monthly average price of spot aluminum was RMB 13,796/t, down RMB 178/t from last month. The average loss within the primary aluminium industry was RMB 92/t, smaller than June.
