China produced 46 kt of NPI (in Ni metal) in September, up by 2.91% m-o-m but down by 12.74% y-o-y. China’s high-NPI output climbed by 3.67% m-o-m to 38.6 kt (in Ni metal) led by a combination of increased operations at some NPI smelters and new capacity continuing to come online driven by high prices. China’s low-NPI output rose slightly by 1.8% m-o-m to 7.4 kt(in Ni metal), chiefly driven by increased operations at integrated 200 series stainless steel smelters.
