27 October, SMM: China imported 6.75 mln t of bauxite in September down 21.86% m-o-m and down 2.08% y-o-y. China’s total bauxite imports during the first nine months of 2019 reached 78.13 mln t, up 26.79% y-o-y.
Australian surpassed Guinea as the largest bauxite supplier to China in September, followed by Indonesia. Guinean’s bauxite exports dropped considerably in September due to the local rainy season curbing mining and bauxite transport.
