China Customs: China imported 5.42 mln t of nickel laterite in July 2019, up 26.77% on-month and up 17.78% on-year. China’s nickel laterite imports during the first seven months of 2019 totaled 26.1 mln t, up 14.61% on-year.
China imported 161 kt of NPI in July 2019, up 12.23% on-month and up 131.3% on-year. China’s NPI imports during the first seven months of 2019 totaled 963.7 kt, up 99.03% on-year. Imports from Indonesia were 659.1 kt, up 123.5% on-year driven by commencement of Chinese-Indonesian JV NPI smelters.
