Chalco Zhongzhou, designed with alumina capacity of 2.4 mtpy, comprising five calcination furnaces, is set to resume full capacity operation next week after restarting one idled furnace this Thursday. Over the past two months, four calcination furnaces were in operation and one was under suspension.
The company’s March output is expected at 190 kt, up from 165 kt in February.
Chalco Zhongzhou produced 2 mln t of alumina and 200 kt of aluminum hydroxide in 2019.
Current mainstream alumina prices are standing at RMB2,580-2,630/t ex-works in Henan, up RMB 40/t from last week.
