The ‘Carbon Peak and Decarbonation Action Plan for Iron and Steel Making Industry’, is currently being drafted and has set goals and key tasks for the mission.
According to inside sources, under the context of ‘carbon peak’ in 2030 and ‘carbon neutralization’ in 2060, the carbon peak target for iron and steel industry has been preliminarily set to achieve the peak of carbon emissions by 2025. By 2030, carbon emissions will be reduced by 30% from the peak with carbon emission reduction expected at 420 mln t.
