NDRC: With coal inventory at national-level coordinated power plants reaching a record high of 199 mln t, there is strong support to implement summer peak power consumption in 2023.
In H1 2023, power generated by large power plants for industrial use reached 4,168 bln kWh, a y-o-y increase of 3.8%. Of the total, thermal power, nuclear power, wind power, and solar power increased by 7.5%, 6.5%, 16%, and 7.4% y-o-y respectively.
In June 2023,739.9 bln kWh of power was generated, up by 2.8% y-o-y. In terms of power consumption, social power usage lifted by 5% y-o-y in H1 2023, while the increase from primary, secondary, tertiary industries and residential use was 12.1%, 4.4% 9.9% and 1.3% respectively.
