9th June: Mainstream magnesium prices in Fugu Shaanxi were being quoted at RMB 20,500/t, with transaction prices at RMB 20,400~20,500/t, down by RMB 1,500/t from the previous Friday. Prices in other producing regions fell accordingly.
As of today, magnesium prices have plummeted from a high point near to RMB 30,000/t to the current level of RMB 20,000/t, down by almost RMB 10,000/t, seeing domestic smelters grappling with low prices. Industry commentators forecast magnesium to continue stable at low levels over the short-term, given prices have already touched bottom.
