Mainstream domestic magnesium prices fell by RMB 300/t from last Friday to RMB 23,200~23,500/t ex-works by cash.
A northern magnesium smelter sold 31 tonnes of magnesium at RMB23,200/t on Thursday, down by RMB 100/t from a 100 t deal it made on Tuesday. According to an industry insider; ‘Despite rising production costs, few magnetism smelters intend to cut or suspend operations over the short term. In view of sufficient supply, magnesium prices are likely to trend down by RMB 100/t next week”.
