29th July: The mainstream magnesium ingot price was being quoted at RMB 22,900~23,000/t with mainstream transaction prices at RMB 22,800/t, down by RMB 200/t w-o-w.
Weaker demand and continued low prices have been weighing on smelters, forcing some close to breakeven level and some in loss. Domestic prices are unlikely to fall further over the short term.
