China produced 86.8 kt of magnesium ingot in March 2022, up by 4.33% m-o-m and up by 30.83% y-o-y. China’s total production during the first three months of 2022 reached 247.4 kt, up by 26.2% y-o-y.
Last week, mainstream primary magnesium transactions prices held stable at RMB 39,500~40,000/t. Smelters were keen to prop prices in the wake of high FeSi prices and uncertainties arising from semi-coke retrofitting policies.
