Domestic magnesium prices have been on the slide since Monday, falling by RMB1,000/t from last Friday and are sitting at RMB34,000~35,000/t ex-work by cash on Wednesday, 1st December.
One smelter in northern China sold 200 t of magnesium at RMB35,000/t on Tuesday. According to a spokesman from the smelter; ‘The market appeared bleak this week and I have had to tune down our quotations by RMB1,000/t from last Friday. The domestic magnesium price is likely to trend down further by RMB500/t amid a flat market’.
