China’s production and sales of automotive vehicles totaled 1.94 million units and 2.02 million units respectively in June 2021, down 4.8% and 5.3% m-o-m, and down 16.5% and 12.4% y-o-y, according to CAAM (China Association of Automobile Manufacturers).
Between January-June 2021, production and sales of automotive vehicles in China amounted to 12.57 million units and 12.89 million units, up 24.2% and 25.6% y-o-y.
In comparison, the new energy vehicle (NEV) segment continued to grow in June, with sales notching a new record high. China’s NEV output increased by 14.3% from May to 248,000 units in June, and sales lifted by 17.7% m-o-m to 256,000 units, an increase of 130% and 140% y-o-y respectively.
