Mingda Carbon Materials, a major graphite electrode producer in Hunan, southern China, is set expand production to 18 kt from 12 kt in 2020.
The company has two high-efficiency graphite electrode production lines in place, with total capacity of 40 ktpy. The company produced 7 kt of graphite electrode during the first five months of 2021 and holds no stock at present.
Mainstream graphite electrode (D600 mm grade) prices were RMB24,800~25,800/t ex-work, remaining stable w-o-w.
