In response to environmental problems discovered by the 4th Central Government Environmental Inspection Group in April 2021, the local authorities of Xinyu Jiangxi have formulated a case specific rectification plan according to the principles of “one producer one policy” and” one mine one policy”, which is applicable to all mines and producers in Xinyu.
At present, a county level official will be responsible for environmental issues at each of the 84 licensed local mines in Xinyu (excluding coal mines). In the meantime, formulation of ecological restoration plans for depleted mines will be accelerated under the principle of “one mine, one policy”.
