This week, domestic magnesium prices have held stable. As of 19th March 2021, mainstream magnesium prices were being quoted at RMB15,300~15,400/t in Fugu Shaanxi with transactions settling at RMB15,300/t. In Wenxi Shanxi, transaction prices were RMB15,600/t. All prices were ex-works with taxes by cash. In the wake of weakening FeSi prices, magnesium quotations fell slightly this week, but actual transaction prices remained stable.
Market commentators forecast domestic magnesium prices will continue under pressure next week amid weakening FeSi prices and anticipate low demand at the end of the month.
