IM Zhengneng Chemical Group (Lubao Magnesium smelter) suspended magnesium smelting amid an FeSi supply shortage caused by energy consumption control measures in IM. The smelter plans to resume operations in early April 2021. Approximately 2.3 kt of magnesium production will be curbed in March 2021.
Shenmu Hengrun Chemical, Shaanxi suspended magnesium smelting and started maintenance and equipment upgrades in early March 2021. The work is scheduled for completion in 4~5 months, and the company is set to restart operations in July 2021, with daily output estimated at 50 t.
