CNIA: China produced 770.7 kt of primary magnesium during the first 11 months of 2020, down by 0.47% y-o-y. Of the total, Shaanxi’s magnesium output was 514.7 kt, up 10.57% y-o-y, Shanxi 96.5 kt, down 15.82% y-o-y and Ningxia 47.4 kt, down 8.01% y-o-y.
CNIA estimates 485 kt of primary magnesium consumption in 2020, holding stable y-o-y. The average price of magnesium fell by 15% y-o-y to RMB13,556/t in 2020.
