China imported 3.45 mln t of nickel laterite in June 2020, up 105.5% m-o-m but down 17.1% y-o-y. Nickel laterite imports from the Philippines rose by 129% m-o-m, but were down 3.54% y-o-y to 3.07 mln t in June, indicative of the limited impact of COVID-19 on Philippine exports. Looking forward to July, Philippine nickel laterite exports are expected to rebound to their normal level.
Customs data shows 107 kt of low-grade nickel laterite exports coming from Indonesia’s bonded zone in June, down 31.6% m-o-m.
