Guangxi Baise Mining Group has five primary aluminium smelters designed with a total of 1.3 mtpy capacity, of which 770 ktpy is presently operational.
The company began carrying out maintenance at three smelters last month, involving a total of 35 ktpy capacity and reducing daily output buy 100 t. Maintenance is scheduled for completion by end-June.
The company produced 700 kt of primary aluminium in 2019, 67 kt of primary aluminium in April 2020 and May output is expected to drop to 64 kt. The company currently holds no stocks.
Mainstream aluminium ingot prices are standing at RMB12,980/t in Shanghai warehouses.
