24th February 2020: 54 kt of bauxite produced at Chalco’s Boffa project in Guinea was loaded onto COSCO’s (China COSCO Shipping Group) ‘Qushanhai’ vessel and arrived at Rizhao Port China, marking the first shipment from Chalco’s Boffa project to China. The bauxite will be transported to Chalco Zhongzhou for refining.
Chalco Zhongzhou has 2.5 mtpy alumina refining capacity, chiefly producing SGA and non-SGA.
