Shanxi Chalco Huarun, designed with primary aluminium capacity of 500 ktpy, came online in Q3 2018 but has been operating at 250 ktpy capacity since then due to limited electricity supply. The electricity supply issue will be resolved by the State Power Grid in Q4 2020 so the company will be able to ramp up to full capacity operation.
Chalco Huarun produced 170 kt of aluminium ingot in 2019.
